Well some perspectives to share on Love by C.S. Lewis that I've come across while reading:
To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certain be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it careful round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. but in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable... The only place outside heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers ... of love is Hell.
(C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves)
Speaking very much about the risk we take to love others, but in the very fact that if we lock it away, we deprive ourselves as well as others of our love; the very nature of humans - to love.
I didn't read this passage in context of the book, but rather, it was quoted out of Captivating, Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge.
Yup just some food for thought.

yea i heard alot about him.... i'll prolly pick up some of his titles to read soon enough. but school's starting! love.... hmm yea there's a passage about love in the bible. not the cliche one but about, something that goes like if you have faith but no love what's the point? or something like that. it did hit me alot cos most of the time i realised i was doing things for the sake of doing them and not thinking about the love factor, whether i thought about other people around me and if those things affected my friends and family etc. it's a big word man. i need to train myself more to love more and not get so caught up in the motion of things.
sometimes i feel like it's a double-edged sword so you kinda gotta have a balance, like what lewis said about if you love anything you gonna end up with a broken heart. i guess love is the root of alot of things like honesty, hospitality, forgiveness etc....
and yea chris is a very lovable person lol....
