Heylo everyone! If you have stayed with the group long enough, you would have come to learn of this term Q.T (Quiet Time). The essence of Q.T is about setting aside an amount of time and spending that time with God in our daily lives. In our Q.T, we worship God and we talk and listen to Him. It is something that we see essential to do as part of our Christian living because we acknowledge the importance of building a relationship with Jesus. We have so many testimonies about how one's life is changing in the process of Q.T, how some of us actually discovered the vision that God has in our lives and some who have come to experience God's healing power in the midst of their Q.T. There's just so much that God wants to give to each one of us each time when we spend time building this relationship with Him. Being a community, we want to encourage one another to continue building this relationship with God. And so, let this be a thread where you can testify to others about your experiences during Q.T like what God is speaking to you or doing in you during your Q.T with Him. I believe these testimonies are going to empower many others in this community!

yea thanks for this thread jo i think it's essential..
i'd just like to share my experience the past few days when i did qt regularly. i was feeling really down and out a couple of weeks back when the semester just started and i felt so overwhelmed to the point where i felt i was going to end up in a mental hospital, the struggling with my mind was just insane cos i had to deal with a couple of things: loneliness, self-pity, failure to quit smoking, lack of motivation to study in nus, my burst eye vessels, food poisoning etc. it was a trying period. but God didn't let me down. i realised he put me through all this to make me better. so i began to pray alot during that period and at one point i went for novena and the rashes on my right leg subsided drastically. since then i prayed for the strength to give up my addiction and he's been fuelling me with the motivation up till now and i'm really thankful for it. i've been qting for the past week everyday and i see that i'm in tune with God more and that i appreciate the simpler things in life. that's also when i realised how much of a change it has brought upon me, cos when i interact with my close friends i feel so different now, i feel as if i've become someone new, someone refreshed like when your computer screen refreshes itself. so i'd just like to give thanks to God for holding onto my hand.

“Dear Lord,
You spoke to me that I’m gona be a great evangelist and I’m gona change million of lives. You told me that ure gona pour your blessings upon eXcess and purify the hearts of the people. The camp (eXcess camp 07) would impact lives and change the people. It’s time to build leaders to carry out this task. I’m so grateful for your grace and for sending people into our group. From CC3, RCIY and even CC4. The response is overwhelming and all I seek fro is your direction on how to handle these people. Lives are now entrusted to us. You told me to dream big and await to see a generation of worshippers and how eXcess: Overtime will come alive again to change and transform lives. I know you have great plans for us and I await to see it happening. I’m ready Lord so use me.”
Joanna 24/07/06
As I was just looking backat my journal entry, I chanced upon this entry. This was written during the time when Edward, Nick, Nat, Eugene were attached to the group, when eXcess was so small, when worship seems empty and when eXcess: Overtime ceased to happen due to lack of manpower. Yet during then the God made His promise and assurance to me. Now that I look back to this entry, I must testify that God indeed has blessed the group and fulfilled what He has promised and He is still working in the midst of what is happening in the group. Seeing how eXcess: Overtime came back again and changed lives of those who attended, seeing how Edward and Nick rose up to be leaders, seeing how the people in eXcess worshiping God, I’m indeed amazed by the wonders that God has done. As stated in our mission “To evangelize and build a generation of worshipers in contemporary music and fine arts”, I’m just so excited to see this generation of worshipers arising and I want to continue dreaming the God’s dream!! Ain’t God just so amazing?
And another thing that really touches me the calling that He has set in my lives and if you remember I shared at the start of the year what God spoke to me one of it was that you are going to change the lives of the people you meet, it’s like the same thing He told me 2 years back in this entry where I’m gona be His instrument to “change million of lives”, it’s like woah!!
I guess when you come to find your calling and asks God for His purpose for you in your life, be sure that you’ll be swept off your feet when you come to know of it. It’s really something BIG, something that we may think we can’t accomplish it BUT this is what makes it a dream that God has for us. That these dreams are not accomplished by our own effort but only through Him.
