i think just before i enlisted, which was about 2 years ago. i played soccer with my ex and her cousins at a basketball court near their grandma's place.
soon enough a team of malay boys game to play as well. of course our team had a disadvantage on paper, we had a girl, couple of younger boys and me (i'm no star myself)
i prayed first for safety, God to protect us and keep us from injuries. prayed for patience and of course no fights. and prayed to play a good game because i was doubtful of winning.
but God was gracious, perhaps made the other team complacent and they did not score. on the other hand, (God's mighty hand) we were leading by 4 goals and all the members of my team had scored, the young boys and their cousin even.
and i was still trying hard to score one. i was denied everytime, by the post and what not. and so, remembering not to be complacent, i prayed again and acknowledged God as our leader and rear guard in all we do.
right after that, no fancy tricks, no 20 yard shot, i ran up to put pressure on the last man and he kicked the ball at me and it rolled in.
so yeah. praise God. i didn't have to do a thing. God will provide =)
like the title says, not by might and not by power but by Spirit. we gotta surrender and allow Him to work His thing in our lives.
God bless!
