Hey guys. Our school is collecting items for Myanmar aid and the last day is this Friday. This nun works in Myanmar. She's an associate with our school, I think. And she is coming over this week (sooner or later) to bring over items for the victims. We're collecting: blankets (loads and loads of them), comforters, sleeping bags, shirts, MOSQUITO NETS, jeans, pants, shirts. We're not collecting: money(which might end up with the Junta instead), food, broken items. If any of you wanna donate these things through our school, I'm willing to meet you guys on Thursday night to collect them. If any.

actually. cash donations are the best donations, reading the papers. red cross only accepts cash donations. i think its easier so they can then buy things to ship off, they would know whats most needed.

cash is not really encouraged though. you never know where the money has gone to.
some officials take the money and sign it as their own and give it to the not-so-needy people.
as what my ss teacher said, who is rather passionate about helping and volunteering.

yeah exactly...cash donations are stupid.
even if red cross gives the cash...think about it the Junta would take the money and fund their stupid elections.
and come on red cross is a private foundation too, they too need financial assistance. so i bet they would pocket a larger percent for their fund raiser or whatever and give the mere percentage to the peeps.
i'd say now the best is to pray for them...at least God would be impartial and give them all.haha.

come on dont be angry man. we're talking about a disaster here, would you rather be in their shoes? we're lucky where we are, but that doesnt mean we should be satisfied. God put us in different places for different reasons to fulfill different purposes.

anyways point is saying is wayy not enough...and actually money is one way...a good and not good way of aidding this people. i wont care to explain beacuse i did. but the thang is praying is a whole lot more...if u really lift the prayer up with everything God will surly make a difference...that's one of the way to help this people...charity is smarity...its a big hooohaaa which ends up aidding the drive organizers.
