Hey strugglers!
sorry for the hiatus for the worship program.. being in camp in and out and haven't had time to really sit down and bring a fresh message to you'all. so, here i am on off and having some free time, i decided to bring it online and i hope you will find a deeper sense of a inner worship lifestyle here.
Just to refresh, the previous time, we have touched on, What is worship, Who do we worship and What is the purpose of worship..
and for this issue, i'll be touching on
The kind of worship that God desires.
Recently, i met this new friend, A in camp. Firstly, to set up the picture right, this guy is no christian and secondly, he worships the god of this world. You see, A is a guy who sees the luxuries and upper class living of this world. and he is desperate to want to be part of it. A remark that would put all into perspective is, "every project that i take, i will always demand a higher price for it". Hmm, sounds like the "go-getter" attitude that the world seeks to build in each of us. He seeks to earn more and more each time he steps out. every life decision is centered on the notion of " how can i break into an even higher earning bracket"
Now, if A was a christian, he would have been really pleasing to God. Then again, in this second part of the worship workshop, i would like to inspire everyone to have this "go-getter" attitude.
However, like many things that God anoints us to do. Go-getting in this sense is to go lower and lower. The tag line to summarize this edition would be. "The closer you get to God, the lower you will go"
Last week, for the eXhaustified musician's spiritual and goal setting session, i shared about how God wants us to be good at our gifts but yet, indicts us to be amateur Christians at the same time.(1 Cor 1:18-31)
In worship, as we get closer to God, we will realize that the void(caused by sins) between us and God is bigger than it seems when we look through our "world-stained" eyes. When we come into encounter with the perfectness of our God, our imperfectness magnifies a 1000 times.
Having a "go-getter" attitude would allow us to never just want to dwell, in the 1st time special experience of the Spirit of God but to want to move into a deeper, closer and indescribable realm of Jesus touch. We always want to get lower, lay down more crowns, until you find that your life is entirely built on a Jesus Mission, until when the day of the Lord comes, then can we rest, safe and secure in the arms of our God. Never let down your guard, for that is when the enemy will strike at you.
Read: Philippians 2:9-11, give the glory and fame to Whom it belongs.
much Love,
Mel
