Remember remember the day we saw godzilla? The huge monster stepping into New York, ripping apart the city just to lay a few eggs? Well, cloverfield is based on the same idea.
Judging from the poster and the hype, it sounds anything but a lil nostalgic. A huge monster running around, destroying New York, and all the other parallels. But wait...this movie offers us more than just that predicted storyline.
This is a revolutionary way of telling a story. Through a HD sony handheld camera, and the person's journey around New York admist the monster stepping, eating and dropping bombs of surprises on the dear and poor humans in the movie. At the very same time, the conflict in the plot is really not what it seems(the monster), but you have to watch to know it.
So I strongly urge people here to watch the movie cause it helps to add creative juices into our head. Ok not ideas of ripping apart cities but ideas of portraying our ideas.
Out of 5. I give it a 4 for its new way of storytelling, great hype with posters and websites set up just to play it up, and the main theme subtle yet obivous. I took the one away because of the effect it gives viewers...I had a terrible headache by the first half and hour because remember its handheld camera recording everything.haha.

excuse me dwayne and darrell...the point really was to do so. cause the cameraman was running away from the monster, how do u xcept the cameraman not to fall or etc whilst running at a high pace?hahaha. think about it. it is all about realism here.

ok dwayne if u wanna be so critical and skeptical then i really dont know how to answer...haha.
ok there is a line of reality and fiction here...see movies are fake...for one...they try i repeat try to be as realistic as possible dont u think it would suck if the first time he dropped the camera then the movie end?haha
think about it...be open to ideas...dont shoot them down...u cant hurt the person who has the idea but not the idea...it will stay and haunt u...ideas are bulletproof...
